Letter from the President |
Dear members and friends,
The Oakland and East Bay
Business and Procurement
Fair took place last
Thursday afternoon, a
fantastic opportunity for
business-to-business
networking and customer lead
generation. I would like to
thank the 53 exhibiting
organizations, hundreds of
individual attendees, and
the many generous companies
that donated door prizes,
for helping make this such a
great event!
The breakdown of exhibiting
organizations was 30
businesses, three business
service organizations, and
20 public agencies, and the
full list, including contact
information,
can be found here.
Hundreds of individual
businesspeople attended to
learn about 2010 business
and procurement
opportunities with these
organizations, and to
participate in some serious
networking.
Our thanks to the following
companies that donated door
prizes: Alameda County
Auditor-Controller Agency;
Albert Brown Mortuary; Alta
Alliance Bank; Avis Budget
Rental Group; BigPrinting
T-Shirt Company; Dimitris by
Design; eon Technologies;
Fidelity Roof Company; Levy
Promotional Products;
Liberty Tax Service; Magic
Detailings, Inc.; Mormon
Temple Visitors' Center;
Pre-Paid Legal Services
Inc.; Somar Bar & Lounge;

CHAMBER MIXER BECOMES "AFTER FIVE
RECEPTION"
|
The Chamber's monthly Business After
Hours Mixer has taken on a new name
- and for February, a new look. The
mixer will hereafter be referred to
as the "After Five Reception," and
this month will be hosted by the
Lions Center for the Blind on
Thursday, Feb. 25. The Lions Center
will team up with Chiodo Art
Development to host the "reception"
at the historic Ginn House in
Preservation Park - 660 13th
St. in downtown Oakland from 5:30 to
7:30 p.m.
As part of the Lions Center's 70th
anniversary, all Chamber members and
guests are asked to embrace the
belief that blindness need not be a
barrier to leading a full,
productive and active life. The
reception will feature the
presentation of a Business Visionary
Award & Tactile Tours of Mario
Chiodo's "Remember Them: Champions
for Humanity" monument. In fact,
attendees will be able to see
sculptures from the "Champions"
collection, and Lions Center for the
Blind staff will lead tours through
the renditions of the men and women
who changed the world for the
better.
The After Five Reception is free for
Chamber members, and costs $15 for
non-members.
